The only prayer we’ll ever need

Occasionally, when my energy is balanced, the weather is nice, and I’m feeling hopeful about life, spontaneous “prayers” will just surface out of nowhere- sometimes for people that I haven’t talked to or even thought about in years.

I used ” ” when I typed prayers because these are more like thoughts that drop-in combined with a snapshot picture usually involving some form of light shining on the person.

Because these are not planned and don’t seem to arise from my conscious mind, I feel they bypass my ego, personal bias, and societal conditioning, and therefore, are much more likely to resonate as truth.

So, what is the theme of these little vibes I send out?

That the person would have a true encounter with their own basic innocence and innate goodness.

Out of everything in the world that I could wish for others- why this?

Because that’s where it all went wrong.

Internalizing the belief that we are inherently bad or corrupt is the quickest way to ensure we will spend our lives sabotaging what we really want and engaging in various forms of self-abuse (substances, disordered eating, toxic relationships and jobs, etc).

If we have shame around our true nature and feel undeserving of blessings and opportunities, you better believe we will push them away every chance we get.

I cannot count how many times I’ve seen this with clients in therapy, people I’ve dated, and even my own self.

It seems to be deeply ingrained in our culture to the point that we accept it for normal; but it doesn’t have to be like this!

I plan to elaborate on this in future entries, so subscribe to the blog if you feel called 🙌
