Hi!

I’m Lindsey–
Army veteran. Former mental health therapist. biohacker. spiritual seeker. proud guinea pig mom.

Originally from Nashville. Currently living in Santa Rosa Beach, FL. . .other places I’ve called home include Columbia, SC and Asheville, NC.

I started this blog after an “initiatory experience” (aka traumatic event) in early 2020 that resulted in a three month long road trip with my guinea pig, and subsequently an out of state move. Throw in a Lyme flare-up and you have a beautiful disaster.

Because I was trying to heal everything simultaneously, it ended up being the catalyst for a reevaluation of my whole life and all that I believed to be true up to that point.

Nothing was off-limits, and no stone was left unturned. It was the birth of my true self and the death of everything that was never me to begin with.

I literally wrote myself out of a really hard spot, which was ultimately my journey “home,” although I didn’t know it at the time.

I enjoy writing about the universal human experience; particularly relationships (with ourselves and others), and all types of healing.

I titled the blog “Anatomy of an Awakening” because I’m fascinated by the mental/physical/spiritual overlap, and truly believe the mind and the body are not separate. If I’ve learned anything over the years, it’s that in order to be well we must honor all aspects of our humanity.

The pictures are from my travels and daily life in FL. I try to use only those that were taken within a month of when I write the entry, as I credit the places I visit for assisting me in formulating and processing my ideas.

It is my sincere hope that the blog can serve as a catalyst for others’ self-exploration, and maybe even contribute to an individual and collective awakening in some small way.
