“Symptoms” part 2

I’ve been working with these ideas for over four years, and they’re still challenging for me to articulate.

I attribute this to the deep programming and conditioning we’ve all been subjected to in the areas of health, symptomology, treatment options, prognosis, etc

Combine this with beliefs around being “negligent” and “irresponsible” if you choose to deviate from the Western medicine paradigm, and you have. …well, a population of people experiencing the level of “health” that we are 🤦‍♀️

. ..and yes, I’m calling the entire Western Medicine system a paradigm. It is literally one way to view the body.

Unfortunately, we’ve come to view it as THE way- the ultimate authority figure and actually started to relate to the entire system as a religion or god.

To say I have tried it and found it to be wanting is an understatement. It is merely a manifestation of our internal fragmentation projected out. It views us as robots with individual parts and pieces that operate independently of one another and rarely has eyes on the totality of the being.

Anyways, the primary idea I wanted to convey in this post is how we solidify symptoms by becoming overly reactive to them.

We’ve been taught they are permanent and/or that they will inevitably lead to x, y, and z outcome unless we do x, y, z thing.

We then look to a practitioner to validate this perspective, to tell us about us, and to join in the fight against. …ourselves 🙄

It’s just another iteration of the rescuer/victim/perpetrator cycle, in that we’re viewing our body as the enemy and us as the victim, and the practitioner as the rescuer- as opposed to realizing our bodies are working overtime to guide and protect us, and that they actually are us.

I’m not suggesting we ignore our bodys’ ways of communicating. I’m suggesting we hold symptoms with a very loose hand. This allows them to come and go as they please, without us getting too locked in.

I’m also not saying not to seek assistance from a practitioner. God knows I’ve benefitted from working with several over the years and truly do not know where I’d be without them!

I’m presenting a perspective to be explored- especially for those who are feeling stuck. I always say “take the best and leave the rest,” and this post is no exception!

Quick example from my own life: I had a download a few weeks ago that I’m still processing, but it was basically “you outsourcing your power is the illness.” 😮 . ..oops. lol. ..

But forreal, I have seen how I can reinforce the idea that I’m incapable or that my body is not to be trusted when I prematurely reach out to a practitioner or modality before I’ve sat with it myself first.

Once again, I’m writing this after literal YEARS of personal work to heal my mind/body/spirit, so take that into consideration when deciding how best to navigate your own journey 🙏
