Seeing ourselves

We’re all just trying to see ourselves.

. ..in a book, a movie, our partner, the headline news story, a political narrative, or the storefront window on a city street.

I find it fascinating that humanity is finally getting curious about who we are and what we’re really made of. ..exploring the depths of our psyche and maybe even formulating a little map of our inner terrain 🤓

It’s nothing new; and yet, it is 🙃

We have more information, resources, and modalities than ever before. It may all seem a little self-focused, but maybe that’s the point. Only by looking at ourselves first do we have any hope of effecting positive change “out there.”

Significance of posting a rare selfie:
In 2020, following an acute traumatic event, I experienced depersonalizion for the first time. My memories and dreams switched third person, and I dipped in and out of shock and confusion to the point of having to reorient when I would drive from the gas station to the grocery store.

Turns out I would not consistently recognize myself in the mirror for two more years. It was a combination of trauma, brain inflammation from Lyme, and what is called “spiritual emergence,” or onset of intuitive gifts accompanied by an expanded consciousness.

If not recognizing your own face isn’t an invitation to connect with yourself at a deeper level, and to access your true multidimensional nature, then I don’t know what is!

When everything has been stripped away, we are given a beautiful opportunity to be with what remains 💖✨️
