Our natural state

I have a flexible day and was hoping to finish the blog entries I mentioned last week.

It seems that the quickest way to ensure I never revisit a topic is to sign off with “more to come,” or “stay tuned.” πŸ˜‚

Neurodivergent people: is this what they mean by PDA, or pathological demand avoidance- even when the “demand” came from yourself?

. ..annoying πŸ™„

Anyways, I realized a few weeks ago while using the word “dehumanizing,” that as a species we haven’t actually established a shared language for what a human actually is πŸ™ƒ

It is for this reason I feel that people are highly desensitized to relationships, jobs, systems, etc, that don’t actually acknowledge or support their humanity.

It’s also the quickest way to get us to disown our own humanness, along with others’ if we don’t actually have an idea of what it is to begin with.

Today, I’m exploring the million dollar question:

Humans: Who are we?

How would we actually be if we weren’t interfered with?

What if we were just left alone? Never told that we were inherently wrong or bad, charged money for water, electricity, and the air we breathe. ..no division created among us by highlighting our differences and instilling (or installing) distrust?

I am of the belief that if we were allowed to just be, and were not thrown into survival mode in multiple ways from a very early age, then indoctrinated with all kinds of bullshit programs (religion, medical, etc) then we would exhibit the following qualities as part of OUR NATURAL STATE:

  • Kind- a natural result of having our needs met and feeling internally resourced.
  • Creative- ideas would naturally flow through us. We would know intuitively which ones to cultivate, and how to prioritize what’s coming through.
  • Whole/integrated- in the absence of fragmentation caused by trauma there would be less internal battles, very little confusion, and clear speech without passive-aggressive comments, sarcasm, or expecting people to read between the lines.
  • Resourceful– we would know how and where to source sustenance and tend to our basic primal needs (food, water, shelter, human connection).
  • Confident- without being told what we are and are not capable of or being gaslight out of our knowing.
  • Embodied- literally in our bodies, as opposed to hovering just above or behind them or dipping in and out (my personal fav 🫠). We would feel safe enough to stay in our bodies, and they would feel like home.
  • Attuned to our body’s messages– we would naturally know what our body was trying to tell us (symptom interpretation, or even prior to creation of symptoms) if we hadn’t been systematically and ritually disconnected from them. We would also know how capable they are of self-healing when given the right tools and being supported, as opposed to having war waged on our bodies- and thus becoming a battleground.
  • Relational- we would naturally desire connection with peoples in the absence of trauma caused in the context of relationships, interruptions to a normal developmental process, ruptures with caregivers, not accompanied by repair, etc.
  • Acutely aware of the beauty in ourselves and the world- our interactions would naturally mirror this back to us. As we affirm it in others and the external world, we would be even more aware of it in ourselves.
  • Connected to our own basic innocence and innate goodness, and that of others- if this were the case, we would have no need to feel ashamed, split off, and project our internal separation onto the external world. Our own innocence and light would be as obvious as saying the sky is blue. We would not experience our inherent goodness as merit based or something to be earned; rather, it is one of the gifts of being in physical form. Innocence and goodness do not need to be proven or defended. They just are.
  • Exercising our sovereignty this is not something that an authority figure bestows upon us. Nor do we aquire it anywhere outside of ourselves. It is a birthright that we were granted along with our breath when we incarnated here. If I had to sum up sovereignty in one sentence, it would be the idea that “I answer to myself and to God alone.” If I was given two sentences, the second one would be: “I make make all decisions where my mind/body/spirit are concerned.” It is both knowing we have agency and taking radical ownership of ourselves and our lives.
  • In tune with nature and it’s rhythms- we would instinctively follow nature’s cues when navigating life. We would eat foods that are in season, go really internal at certain times of the year, detox our bodies at other times, honor and prioritze womens’ cycles, be in tune with the weather patterns, and have balanced circadian rhythms. No more burning the candle at both ends, pushing past our body’s limits, pillaging and abusing the earth for profit, or thinking we can get away with ingesting artificial foods/ putting chemicals on and in our body, and still experience wellbeing.

This is how I view us and the perspective I write from.

Some may disagree, say it’s out of touch, unattainable, or outright delusional; but I believe this awareness is a natural and actually unavoidable byproduct of deconditioning and stepping into the truth of who we are.
