Birthing our gifts

Im taking a break from the more serious posts to share a recent knitting project and guinea pig photo shoot 🙃

The knitting “project” was actually just an inventory of all my yarn and half-finished scarves. ..I realized I buy new yarn and needles nearly every time I travel; with the exception of the recent trip to TX, where I bought oil pastels instead 🤷‍♀️

There’s definitely a part of me that wants to get back into doing art regularly. ..hidden amongst the other 87% of that’s content to hang out in the left side of my brain and just stick to the more predictable/goal oriented endeavors.

Writing is the only thing that comes naturally to me right now, and I realized at some point last year that the words come through me- not from my brain at all.

It’s more of a spiritual channel, which makes sense why I was still able to do it when I had brain inflammation from Lyme and struggled with basic everyday tasks.

It’s kindve cool to think that the art will get through to the earth plane, regardless of what is standing in its way. Even if it has to take the person out and completely bulldoze the rational mind- it will get through!

I’ve found it’s easier to just surrender, as opposed to fighting it, but that’s for another post.

I’ve been thinking about the concept of art choosing us, and all we have to do is be willing to be a vessel- similar to the virgin Mary 😅

What’s coming through has its own personality, purpose, and path. We just have to birth it.

When I write, I have no attachment to an outcome and no say in what happens after I press “post,” “share,” or “publish.” It will find whoever it needs to, meet them where they are, leave an energetic imprint (or not), then move on.

More to come on the creative process, including one of my favorite quotes from Elizabeth Gilbert about what our art never promised us. ..hint: money, fame, popularity, etc 🫠
