This is a picture of a snakeskin I found on my back patio a few weeks ago. ..the Saturday right before Easter to be exact.
Three days prior to that, I saw an actual snake in front of the garage π¦
What’s interesting is the snakeskin looks very similar to the Shroud of Turon, which is thought to be Jesus’s burial cloth. I got to see it in person when the exhibit came to Murfreesboro TN in 2004, during my junior year at a Christian high school. ..naturally, our Bible teacher took us on a field trip π
It’s so funny that it appeared the day before Easter, and 3 days after seeing the π. ..I joked with a few friends that Jesus himself came to visit me π
Anyway, when I looked up “snake spirit animal,” I repeatedly saw the words: transmutation, growth, renewal. If there’s one thing we can say about snakes, it’s they know how to transform πͺ·
I’m actually writing about this in the book right nowβ¨οΈ
Here’s a short excerpt:
So much of modern day mental health care is aimed at blocking and suppressing the freak-outs, the meltdowns, the dark nights of the soul, and the episodes, as opposed to providing support and education on how to skillfully navigate them. In my opinion, this is unfortunate because they can actually be the gateway to our true selves, aka a massive awakening.
“Yes, breakthroughs are often disguised as breakdowns.”
What differentiates a breakdown from a breakthrough?
The consciousness of the person experiencing it.
What transforms a mental health episode into a spiritual awakening?
The decision to make it one.
More to come π
