Know when to quit ๐Ÿ™ƒ

Light is information. It illuminates the truth- even when it’s painful or inconvenient.

I’m nearing the end of the book writing process and am having trouble letting it go. Just yesterday, a whole other topic came streaming in with a felt sense of urgency as if to say:

“The world needs this NOW.”

I spent all day expounding upon the idea and updating the manuscript. Last night, I fell asleep trying to figure out how to fit it in.

What segway can I use to prevent this from being too much of a leap for my audience?

This morning, I woke up with the realization that it absolutely does not fit in and that there’s no segway that will make this make sense to the majority of people ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Sh** ๐Ÿ˜…

I had a choice: Either omit it or run the risk of completely leaving readers in the dust (not because they aren’t brilliant and awesome, but because we all have our bandwidth).

I’m choosing to set it aside, knowing that I will continue to write and that I can totally incorporate it into future projects where it’s a better fit.

The book I’ve written stands true on its own without this additional section. Holding off on releasing the new material doesn’t detract from it in the slightest.

See, the thing with light is you don’t want to shine it in peoples’ eyeballs. ..at least not for very long ๐Ÿ˜‚

It’s a delicate balance when it comes to the intensity and duration of light.

We all need time to integrate new information and to reconcile any cognitive dissonance – or even shock – that may arise from seeing the parts of ourselves that have now been illuminated.

I actually wrote in the conclusion of the book: “This isn’t the end of the conversation. It’s the beginning.”

So I guess I shouldn’t have been too surprised when this phrase dropped in earlier today:

“You know when your book is finished when you’ve gone beyond it.” ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

Yikes. …but also, yay ๐Ÿ™Œ

Stay tuned for details on when this current book will be released and for information on future projects โœจ๏ธ
