Life is everything

Life is everything.

It’s amazing. It’s terrible. It’s exhilarating. It’s exhausting.

It is the crystal clear and the blurry.

One moment, it is clarity and decisiveness. The next, it is learning to exist in the unknown and hold a lot of nuance.

We set out of this trip thinking we would stay in Columbia, SC for a few nights before going to NC. Long story short, our Airbnb fell through while I was driving there, then we couldn’t find a hotel room for extremely bizarre reasons (I tried 4 different ones).

By that time, we’d been in the car for over 10 hours. We were exhausted and out of water. The plan was to get the pigs situated in an Airbnb or hotel room, then go out for snacks, but since we couldn’t find a room until approx 11pm, I carried them into Wal-Mart in a blanket like a human baby 🙃

We were able to find water, apples, and carrots 3 minutes before they closed. I spilled the pigs’ food on the hotel carpet as soon as we got into our room, then dumped my coffee filter on the floor the next morning (2nd pic). ..basically I was not functioning 🤦‍♀️

This was after carrying their huge cage up 3 flights of stairs and making several trips to the car for my own suitcase and human snacks 🙄

The picture of the swimming pool was taken the next morning when I took my coffee outside so I could seriously question my life choices without the pigs wondering what is wrong with mom 🥹

The point is, it’s not all about the highlight reel. Every experience is valid and deserves a place in the photo collage or sideshow of our lives ✨️

To wrap up the travel story, I somehow found an Airbnb in Charlotte, NC, in the perfect location. It was available for the days we needed it AND allowed for early check-in. It turned out to be one of my favorite places I’ve ever stayed 🦄

This was a reminder that things can shift in a single instant – or miracle moment – and that staying open to the possibilities and trusting that everything is unfolding for our highest good can go a long way to help make the most of our time here 🪷
