Puffy is onto me. ..no, she does not want an audience for eating her apple slice 🫠
Meanwhile, Shelly is not phased! She is adaptable, resilient, and seems to have unlimited energy 💫
I, on the other hand, am feeling exhausted and spacey today after working on my website for the past 2-3 weeks and submitting the formatting corrections for the book last night.
The purpose of this round of edits was to identify formatting errors, but I found a few grammatical errors along the way, and also decided to rewrite the introduction for the hardest chapter of the whole book 🙄
I’m at peace with it now, and know that regardless of how hard I tried to get it just right, I will inevitably be misunderstood in some way, because everyone will view it through their own lens (which may look drastically different than anything I had in mind when I wrote it).
Now that the book is mostly finished, there are 2 things that I feel extremely grateful for:
● I didn’t try so hard to disprove one
narrative that I went to the extreme other side.
No pendulum swings here!
The book is written from a place of emotional neutrality, and I acknowledge the different aspects of the material I’m sharing. My intention is to help people become more empowered to make their own decisions, not to just tell them what to do.
● The goal was to get the information out into the world.
Because my idea of success isn’t tied to the number of book sales or how people choose to use (or not use) what I share, then I basically already achieved my goal 🙃
After a year of dedicating most of my creative energy and brainpower towards the book, I’m excited to be able to focus on the blog again, or just on sharing a few thoughts on social media each day.
I’m really more of a blogger at heart, and I’m not sure if I’ll ever take on what I’m referring to as an “extended container” project again 🤷♀️
I learned that burnout doesn’t always come from what we do, but from what we’re not doing- or what we’ve neglected. ..hobbies and activities that nourish and revive us, etc.
So here’s to getting back in touch with what makes me, me 🙌
