Intuitive eating

Did I just go vegan!?? ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ™„

๐Ÿฅฆ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿฅ‘๐Ÿฅ•๐Ÿ๐Ÿ‹

. ..probably not. Lol

At least not permanently.

However, I did develop an aversion to meat, so I am taking a break for now ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ

I’ve eaten grass-fed beef regularly throughout the past 2 years, and have so much gratitude for every cow that contributed to sustaining my life โค๐Ÿ™

I needed it at the time for it’s grounding properties, B vitamins, and help with ๐Ÿง  inflammation from Lyme (#healed).

However, it seems like my body is trying to lighten up, so this change feels really intuitive. I may incorporate fasting at some point as well. ..it’s one day at a time over here!

Notice I did not title this entry “Why I’m now vegan, and why you should be too.”

Immediately no.

This is so not about that. My purpose in writing is to show how it can look to honor what our body is saying, even if it’s seemingly random or unexpected. We’re allowed adjust course simply because it feels good. That’s it.

We don’t actually need charts, graphs, 20 years of data, etc. ..we can actually do things (or not do them) simply because we want to.

That being said, I have learned a lot in the past few days about the potential benefits of a plant based diet, which I shared below.

This book talks about how some foods are mucus forming (particularly meat/dairy). ..either they become slimy and form a gel as they break down, or the digestive process creates mucus because of how much energy the heavier foods require.

Sry if this is TMI, but I’m doing some pretty intense detoxing, and I already have enough drainage without adding any more. There’s no telling what kindve toxins I’m mobilizing, so I want all my body’s efforts going towards getting them OUT ๐Ÿคฎ

I’ll do a post on detox soon, but I just wanted to say that everyone’s body is different and that there’s a lot of variability to even the same body over time.

This could actually be a 72 hour phase for me and I will crave a ๐Ÿฅฉ tomorrow ๐Ÿ˜„

The best thing we can do is learn our own body and how it communicates with us๐Ÿซ€๐Ÿง ๐Ÿซ

  1. I started doing keto several years ago and then intermittent fasting several months ago. They are both great for my sleep, my weight, my digestion. At first I used the diet app Cronometer. Every day for several years. Then I tried winging it. Twice I had to go back to it but it’s been awhile and I seem to be doing okay without it.

    1. Oh awesome!! I’m so glad you’ve found some tools that help you feel good. I tend to do something for 6-8 months, then have to switch it up. It’s actually a struggle for me to eat a variety of foods, as I tend to get into a little rut if I’m not careful haha. ..hope you’re well ๐Ÿ™โœจ๏ธ
