Our society rewards self-abandonment. We are praised and validated at every turn for operating from our ego’s desires (aka the “out front” self).
Although I’m not one to vilify the ego, as it usually takes the form of a wounded inner child and/or protector part, and has probably helped us get where we are today; it is by definition a false self that was born of survival and is not really who we want running the show.
The soul’s callings are usually underneath the ego programs and are often only accessible once we’ve stripped the multiple layers of our false selves down and away.
It’s vulnerable work, and not everyone will choose to do it in this lifetime. If your programs are still working, by all means, keep running them.
I tend to write to the ones who are SEEing the limitations of their previous frameworks and are seeking a different perspective.
The recognition, earthly acolades, and external validation that the ego afforded are starting to feel empty, and they’re seeking a deeper level of meaning for life, the world overall, and their place in it.
Who are we behind our out-front self? Will we be accepted if we show up authenticity? Have we ever really been loved for who we actually are? Are we strong enough to withstand the rejection that may ensue if we put our true selves out there?
These questions are really up for a lot of people right now, and I, for one, am excited to see what unfolds.
The path of self-exploration can feel narrow, winding, and filled with obstacles, but ultimately leads to a more authentic version of ourselves.
Never any worries. Our souls will lead the way 🙏🪷✨️
